Your child’s favorite TV shows will be brought to life through music and movement! Your dancer will enjoy songs and crafts from Dora the Explorer, The Backyardigans, the Wonderpets and more.

SESSION 2: July 9th - July 13th
Chipmunks Camp -
If your child loves the movies and music from Alvin and the Chipmunks (and don’t forget the Chipettes!), then she will love learning dance routines to their upbeat songs!!

SESSION 3: July 16th - July 20th
Muppets Camp-
Your child will enjoy dancing to the music from Muppet movies new and old. Your little on will even get to create his/her own muppet puppet!

SESSION 4: July 23rd - July 27th
Disney Princess Camp-
Princess Camp is always a favorite among our dancers. Your child will enjoy learning how to dance like a princess while creating her own crown for the end of the week performance!

SESSION 5: August 13th - 17th
Muppets Camp-
Your child will enjoy dancing to the music from Muppet movies new and old. Your dancer will even get to create his/her own muppet puppet!

Rhythm Dance Team 2012 Auditions

When: Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 at Rhythm Dance Academy, Cheshire, CT

Auditions are being held to objectively assess dance levels and abilities of current and new students that wish to participate in the Competition program and determine appropriate participation and placement. Students will be considered for this structured program based on three criteria: audition scores, work ethic and behavior displayed in class during the previous dance season, and performance and behavior at competition and recital. Participation in this program in previous seasons does not guarantee a spot on the team.
Audition Schedule:
9:00am – 10:00am – Age 4-6
10:00am – 11:30pm – Age 7-9
11:30am – 1:00pm – Age 10-12
1:00pm – 2:30pm – Age 13 & Up

Requirements & Eligibility: To be considered for placement on the Competition Team, dancers MUST have been previously enrolled in a Ballet or Lyric/Modern technique class*.
• Come prepared in proper dress code: Black leotard, pink tights, Hair in a secure ballet bun (skirt and/or booty shorts optional) – NO jewelry (stud earrings ONLY) or hair elastics on wrists!
• Bring all necessary dance shoes: Ballet, Tap & Jazz Shoes
• Students must be prepared to commit to at least 2-3 nights of dance a week (hourly duration of class/rehearsal per week depending on age and level), Saturday rehearsals January through March, and required to participate in scheduled competitions in Winter/Spring 2012 (Competitions & Dates TBA).
• Attend mandatory Summer Dance Classes twice a week.
• Be available to participate in “Kids For Kids” Competition – April 18-21,2013 in North Haven, CT
• Please do not audition if you cannot commit to the above attendance policy as there will be no exceptions to this policy.
• Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to sign in and stretch. Parents may not attend the auditions but are welcome to wait in the lobby.
• You will be notified by mail if you are accepted on the dance team and what your schedule will be.
• Once placed on the dance team, a mandatory registration meeting will be held for parents only on Thursday, June 7th at 6:00 pm to register your child and answer all questions.

*Exceptions will only be considered if student has newly enrolled in RDA from another studio, or if they had taken private lessons with a teacher focused on technique and development.
